off season in Montauk

the end. literally signifying the end of long island, and the end of the 2019 summer season. this week, ryan and i drove to montauk to be surrounded by the sea. i’m astrologically all water, and grew up by the shore, so every few months i have to make contact with the ocean. we took this moment to reset, envision what’s possible, and nourish ourselves with a handful of hours soaking up the last strong rays of summer sunlight.

Suggestions:

grab a bite at the gig shack

morning brew at left hand coffee. take it to go and walk to the shore, straight ahead.

have breakfast or lunch at naturally good. any smoothie, the dukkah spiced avocado toast, the sprouted bagel…it was all delicious. also a great place to pick up snacks.

gosman’s for fresh fish. we bought a striped bass filet and grilled it with some lemon and dill. it was one of the better meals of my summer.

if going in-season:

surf lodge. a great hangout spot with all the vibes. [we were so bummed that this place was a ghost town]

tacombi for tacos. the building it’s in is absolutely cool as shit.
